Here’s the facts about the role:

This role plays a critical part in keeping our residents safe and ensuring we meet our legal and regulatory responsibilities. You'll provide expert leadership on building safety, helping to shape a strong safety culture and ensuring robust compliance arrangements are in place across our housing portfolio.

As Building Safety Manager, you'll take ownership of the management of Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), Building Safety Cases, Safety Case Reports, Building Assessment Certificates, resident engagement strategies and the Golden Thread of Information. Working closely with colleagues, external consultants, regulators and residents, you'll ensure building safety risks are identified, assessed and effectively managed.

Supporting the Senior Building Safety Manager, you'll help develop and embed building safety frameworks, policies, governance arrangements and assurance activities that demonstrate effective risk management and regulatory compliance. You'll also play a key role in promoting a positive building safety culture across the organisation, ensuring we continue to meet evolving legislative and regulatory expectations while protecting our residents and homes.

We're looking for a qualified building safety professional with experience in building compliance, health and safety, fire safety or the built environment. You'll have a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, membership of a professional body such as IFE, RICS or IOSH, and a commitment to continuing professional development.

You'll bring strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations and compliance within residential properties, along with experience of managing fire safety, compliance or asset-related projects. You'll be confident assessing risk, making sound decisions and engaging effectively with residents, colleagues and external stakeholders.

You’ll have experience of working with budgets and planned outputs with the ability to produce accurate and concise reports with commentary. You’ll be a strong leader with a supportive approach who’ll champion our ‘work as one team’ ethos. You’ll establish good links with all internal teams to promote excellent service delivery and exceptional customer service also.

As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement.

Travel will generally be within the Hampshire area, visiting HRB's within portfolio. Business mileage will be paid.

This is a two stage interview process, with first stage interviews taking place in our Portsmouth office on 13 November (subject to change)

We're a leading provider of affordable homes and extensive support services in the south of England. We believe that everyone has the right to a safe and secure place to call home, and from the moment customers move into their VIVID home we’re here to help with that and more.

Our customers have access to a wide range of tailored advice to sustain their tenancies and look after their wellbeing. We invest in our homes and communities for the long-term, and this means in the quality, safety and energy efficiency of existing homes and neighbourhoods, with a firm focus on improving services so they’re easy to use and access by our customers.

We’re addressing the shortage of affordable housing in the south, building the right type of homes to meet the needs of our local communities. We’re the sixth largest developer of new homes amongst housing associations in England, having built over 1,500 last year.

This is summed up in our vision “More homes, bright futures”.
