Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a reputable care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily needs, supervising junior staff, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your leadership skills and make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
  • Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support to ensure quality standards are upheld
  • Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly and reporting them to relevant healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to legal and organisational policies
  • Promote a safe and comfortable environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Assist with organising activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clear understanding of care needs

Experience

  • Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
  • Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
