About Us:
DB Heating Ltd is an 18-strong, local, family-run company with over 40 years of industry experience. We provide high-quality services to private homes, including bespoke renovations and period properties in Tavistock, Plymouth, West Devon, and East Cornwall. As a second-generation family company, we are committed to supporting our highly valued team of expert engineers.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Service and Breakdown Heating Engineer to join our dedicated team. This role involves diagnosing faults, completing CP12s (Gas Safety Certificates), performing annual services, and making necessary repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and repair conventional heating systems including Gas, Oil, LPG combi boilers, and unvented/vented water/heating systems.
- Handle breakdown calls and emergencies.
- Complete CP12s and other relevant documentation.
- Opportunity to expand into Air & Ground source heat pumps, and solar thermal systems with provided training
What We Offer:
- Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 basic, plus optional overtime, weekends, and callouts.
- Holiday: 28 days paid holiday, increasing by one day per year, up to 33 days per annum.
- Overtime: Flexible, optional overtime and weekend work at £150 extra per day. All overtime and out-of-hour callouts are paid.

- Training: On-the-job training for renewable technologies and Oil/LPG fuels.

We have a customer base consisting of local, private homes, include bespoke and high quality renovations and period properties. None of the hassle of social housing, and all within a reasonable area.
Day to day work will include servicing and repairing conventional systems such as combi boilers and unvented/vented water/heating systems, as well as tending to breakdown calls and emergencies.

Requirements:
- Qualifications: CENWAT1 compulsory (or CEN1 & WAT1 qualifications together).
- Must have valid work authorization within the UK - we don't offer sponsorship, visa or relocation packages
- Experience: More than 3 years of experience is compulsory, particularly in installing Combi's as well as S & Y Plan systems.
- Skills: Proficient with power and hand tools, excellent communication skills, punctual, honest, and hardworking.
- Transportation: Must have clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in LPG & Oil, commercial work, heat pumps, and renewable technologies (training provided).
