Gas Engineer / Plumber – Reactive Maintenance

£22 per hour + Company Van | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–4:30pm | Long-Term Position

We are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer / Plumber to join our established business in Sheffield on a long-term, self-employed basis.

This role covers both gas and plumbing, with a strong focus on reactive maintenance.

We're looking for someone with solid experience in reactive maintenance who is confident working independently, diagnosing faults and completing a wide variety of jobs.

The Role

Jobs are sent directly to your phone throughout the day, and you'll attend customers' properties to diagnose and complete the required work.

The work is varied and can include:

  • Boiler repairs and fault finding
  • Boiler installations
  • Gas repairs and maintenance
  • Shower repairs and replacements
  • Tap repairs and replacements
  • Toilet and cistern repairs
  • Radiators and heating problems
  • Leak detection and repairs
  • Silicone repairs
  • Sanitaryware repairs and replacements
  • General domestic plumbing
  • Other plumbing and gas maintenance work

We also undertake new-build projects, including first and second fix plumbing, so there may be opportunities to work on new-build sites when the reactive workload allows.

You'll need to be confident diagnosing faults and identifying the appropriate repair, often with limited information initially available from the customer.

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, solving problems and working independently.

Hours

Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm

There is no regular evening or weekend work and no expectation of overtime.

We organise the workload to provide a productive and realistic working day, and we expect an experienced engineer to manage their jobs professionally and efficiently.

We're looking to build a long-term working relationship with the right person.

This is not a short-term contract or temporary position. We're looking for someone who wants consistent work with the same company for years to come, while working on a self-employed basis.

  • Has strong experience in reactive maintenance
