System Administrator Medical Equipment Asset Management Application
Permanent, Full Time (36 hrs/wk): 1 Post.
Salary Scale: Band 5
An exciting opportunity to join the Medical Equipment Management Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a System Administrator supporting the Medical Equipment Management Asset Application (Medusa), a critical system managing over 90,000 medical devices across NHS Lothian.
The key responsibilities of this role are
- Maintaining the application, including
- administration of user accounts and reference data
- testing and scheduling of upgrades
- monitoring of data quality
- Development of reports and dashboards to support service decisions
- Providing training and support to users across departments
- Working with clinical, technical, and IT teams to improve system use
- Supporting system development and process improvements
You will have a degree in a business-related or/scientific/technical/computing subject, with demonstrable experience in systems administration to manage our complex multi-user application. An ideal candidate has proven skills in both database management as well as data analytics.
We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. Experience of working within a healthcare context is an advantage. This post may involve travelling and working at various hospitals and clinics in Lothian.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting safe, effective healthcare technology, work across a large, diverse healthcare system with opportunities to influence data-driven decision-making.
NHS Lothian serves a population of approximately 800,000 in a region covering 700 square miles, comprising the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian. It is an area of exceptional beauty and contrast, from the splendour of Edinburgh to the beauty and variety of the hills, countryside and coastline. The nearest major town outside Edinburgh is Livingston, a thriving location in the heart of West Lothian.
