About the role

Are you looking for a meaningful and rewarding role where you can truly make a difference to people’s lives?

And exciting opportunity has arisen for dedicated individuals to join the Isle of Man Ambulance Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) as Patient Transport Service Operatives. In this essential role, you will provide safe and reliable transport for patients and service users across the Isle of Man, ensuring they reach treatment centres and other destinations with exceptional care and support. Your responsibilities will involve assisting individuals with varying needs, prioritising their comfort and safety at all times.

This includes manual handling, navigating stairs, and securing essential equipment like wheelchairs and stretchers during transit. Some patients may need assistance being carried (including up or down stairs), transported in a wheelchair or stretcher and safely escorted to and from the vehicle. You’ll drive a variety of vehicles, including equipped NEPTS ambulances and wheelchair-accessible vehicles, delivering non-urgent, planned patient journeys. Whether working independently or as part of a supportive crew, you will play a key role in ensuring a seamless and caring transport experience.

No formal qualifications are necessary for this role - we’ll provide all the training you need! The only requirement is a full, valid manual driving licence.

Please note, this role will involve working day shifts, including Saturdays which will be on a rota basis. Part-time hours may also be considered.
