Description:

The post holder will be a practising specialist in hospitality and tourism to support both programme leader, and teaching staff on the requirements of QAA regulator and also external awarding bodies such as Edexcel and university validating partners.

Duties/Job Function:

  • Deliver teaching, assessment and evaluation duties to a range of learners on full-time and part-time programmes at HNC/HND, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Provide tutorials and academic support to individual and groups of students.
  • Liaise with Programme Leaders and Internal Verifiers, as appropriate.
  • Carry out assessment, evaluation and other administrative duties in line with module requirements.
  • Support curriculum development, quality assurance and internal verification activities.
  • Supervise individual and group projects within the Hospitality and Tourism specialist subject area.
  • Support compliance with QAA, awarding body and university validating partner requirements.
  • Attend required departmental meetings and meetings with external examiners.

The Candidate:

Qualification Required:: UK Bachelors’ and Masters’ degree in Hospitality/ Travel Tourism Management (or equivalent qualification) , however, Professional membership and PhD degree will be desirable .

Person Specification:

What We`re Looking For

Essential:

  • The successful candidate MUST hold both UK Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in any ONE of the following subject disciplines: Hospitality & Tourism Management, Business & Management [with extensive teaching experience in Hospitality & Tourism Management at Level 5 & 6 & 7]
  • In addition the candidate MUST have the relevant experience to managing and developing quality assurance and RQF internal verification activities within the UK HE institutions.
  • Knowledge and awareness of UK Quality Code is an essential requirement.
  • Extensive experience in teaching Degree and HNC/HND and assessment procedures would be essential.
  • PhD is desirable but not essential
