About MYSHON
MYSHON is a forward-thinking housing provider supporting vulnerable adults, including individuals with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, addiction issues, physical disabilities, and those at risk of homelessness.
Our mission is to provide safe, high-quality accommodation and effective housing management that empowers people to sustain their tenancies, develop independent living skills, and achieve positive long-term outcomes.
Working alongside care providers, landlords, local authorities and partner agencies, we deliver person-centred housing services across Transitional Housing (TH), Supported Housing (SH), Specialised Supported Housing (SSH) and the Private Rented Sector (PRS).
The Role
As a Housing Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality housing management and tenancy sustainment services. You'll support tenants to maintain their accommodation, maximise their independence and achieve positive housing outcomes while ensuring properties remain safe, compliant and well managed.
You'll work closely with tenants, landlords, care providers and external agencies to provide an excellent housing service across a varied portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Manage a caseload of tenants, providing effective housing management and tenancy sustainment.
- Carry out regular welfare and property visits to promote independence, wellbeing and tenancy stability.
- Support tenants with budgeting, financial management, benefits, Universal Credit and housing-related responsibilities.
- Help tenants access employment, education, healthcare and specialist support services.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, tenancy issues, rent arrears, antisocial behaviour and neighbour disputes.
- Liaise with landlords, care providers, local authorities, the DWP and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Complete property inspections, health & safety checks and report repairs.
- Develop and maintain support plans, risk assessments and accurate case records.
- Ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement through teamwork, training and high-quality record keeping.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, compassionate and passionate about helping people maintain successful tenancies and live independently.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or people with complex needs within housing, health, social care or a related environment.
- Experience in housing management, tenancy sustainment or supported housing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and the UK welfare system.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Good IT skills with experience maintaining electronic records.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Housing, Health & Social Care or a related subject.
- Experience working within TH, SH, SSH or PRS services.
- Experience working with local authorities and partner agencies.
- Training in, or experience delivering, person-centred support.
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you're passionate about supporting vulnerable people, committed to delivering excellent housing services and want to be part of a growing organisation that genuinely changes lives, we'd love to hear from you.
