Candidate profile (text) - Default language IKEA Oxford Street are looking to welcome Store Assistants to our team on a temporary basis for 10 weeks, with the potential to be made permanent.

We're looking for a dynamic Store Assistant at IKEA Oxford Street to deliver outstanding customer experiences. While your main focus will be in checkout or sales, you'll embrace a multi-skilled role, ensuring product availability and an inviting shopping environment for all our customers.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • The Start Date of employment will be: Early August 2026
  • Competitive hourly rate of £14.80 per hour.
  • A variety of contracts are available working 20- 30 hours per week across 4-5 days, including day shift, evening shifts and 3 in 4 weekends per month.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

  • You have a positive approach, enjoy working on different tasks throughout the day, are enthusiastic about being part of the team and can work without supervision.
  • You have a customer-first mindset and enjoy the versatility of working in a different area each day, making the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do.
  • You are computer literate and able to work with technology.
  • You prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available with great attention to detail.
  • You’ll thrive in an environment with frequent shifts in priorities, comfortable handling changing demands and re-prioritising your tasks during the day.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • You provide an inspirational shopping experience for our customers working across various departments throughout the day, supporting customers to find the right solutions for their life at home.
  • You are interested in the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design, keen to share this with our customers.
  • You support maximising sales by ensuring your areas of responsibility are clean, fully stocked, well presented, and easy to shop, with regular replenishment and upkeep of the Market Hall to keep it customer-ready. Some products may involve heavy lifting.
  • You’ll work with ladders and at height, following safety procedures to ensure efficient replenishment and maintaining high standards across the shopfloor.
  • You will be working and staying agile in a fast-paced setting, rapidly assessing situations and implementing solutions to keep operations running smoothly
