Junior Ux Designer jobs

We’re looking for a Digital Designer to join our growing team.

This is a creative role focused on digital design - creating engaging, user-focused experiences across websites and digital channels for a range of clients.

You’ll work closely with our design, strategy and development teams, taking ideas from initial concepts through to polished digital experiences. You’ll be involved throughout projects, helping to make sure what we create looks great, works brilliantly and delivers for our clients.

Key responsibilities

You’ll take ownership of the design and visual execution across a range of client projects - balancing creativity with usability and commercial thinking.

Day-to-day, that means:

• Designing websites, landing pages and other digital experiences
• Creating wireframes, layouts and high-fidelity designs in Figma
• Developing digital creative for campaigns, social media and other channels
• Translating brand guidelines and creative direction into engaging digital experiences
• Working with our strategy and performance teams to create designs that meet user and business needs
• Collaborating closely with developers to make sure designs are implemented accurately and work well across different devices
• Considering UX, accessibility, responsive design and usability throughout the design process
• Creating prototypes and iterating designs based on feedback and testing
• Presenting your work and explaining your design thinking to both internal teams and clients
• Working across multiple projects and clients, managing your time and priorities effectively

You’ll also have client-facing responsibility - building relationships, presenting your work confidently, and helping clients understand the thinking behind the designs.

Your skills and qualifications

We’re after someone with solid experience in digital design, ideally within an agency, studio or similar environment, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong digital work.

You’ll likely have:

• Strong experience designing for digital, particularly websites and responsive interfaces
• Excellent working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• A good understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design and digital accessibility
• A strong eye for typography, layout, composition and visual hierarchy
• Experience taking brand direction and turning it into polished digital executions
• An understanding of how design works alongside development and the practicalities of building websites
• The ability to create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
• Strong communication skills - able to explain your thinking without hiding behind design jargon
• Experience managing multiple projects or clients and working to deadlines
• A portfolio that demonstrates both your creative ability and your understanding of digital design

Nice to have (but not essential)

• Experience with motion design or After Effects
• Experience designing for email and social media
• Experience working with animation and micro-interactions
• Experience with user testing or design research
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Umbraco or similar
• An understanding of HTML and CSS

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
