Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class within a friendly and supportive school in the Ormskirk area. This is a long-term position starting in September 2026, providing an excellent opportunity to become a valued member of the school community. There is also the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children's learning, development and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. You will help create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children's learning, development and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. You will help create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils within the Reception classroom.
- Delivering learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Encouraging children's social, emotional and academic development.
- Supporting phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities.
- Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Providing support for both individual pupils and small groups.
- Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation.
The Successful Candidate Will Have: - Essential EYFS experience within a school setting.
- A passion for supporting young children during their early stages of education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and proactive approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A good understanding of safeguarding practices within schools.

- Consistent working hours of 9:00am 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
