Full job description

We are seeking a Mental Health Law Paralegal to join our expanding Cambridge Team.

Responsibilities include:

Managing cases, advocating for clients in various settings, and providing legal advice.

Reviewing medical disclosure and preparing for Tribunal hearings

Attending court hearings, client meetings, and visits to hospitals, care homes, and other settings as required.

Drafting legal documents, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.

Preparing court bundles and conducting legal research.

Liaising with clients, family members, experts, healthcare professionals, and other third parties.

Assisting with Legal Aid applications and related funding matters.

Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm requirements.

Supporting departmental initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of the team.

Essential:

A qualifying Law Degree (LLB) or SQE1 equivalent.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written work.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A professional, empathetic, and client-focused approach.

Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to travel for court hearings and client visits when required.

An interest in working with vulnerable individuals.

Previous paralegal experience or experience working with vulnerable client groups, health and social care services, or related environments would be advantageous.
