Weekly bus company medical sessions in Brighton, Crawley, and West London

We are looking for doctors to work as medical examiners to do weekly occupational health sessions for bus companies in Brighton, Crawley, and West London. The sessions are at the clients' premises and last for four to seven hours depending on location.

The work is a mixture of management referrals and DVLA licence renewal medicals.

The referrals are generally because an employee is off sick or because they are having health problems affecting their work. The company is usually wanting some more information about why the person is off work and when they might get better, and whether there is anything they can do to help.

We don’t require any occupational health experience as we give a lot of training and support. Our reports are always reviewed by another experienced doctor before being dispatched.

We currently have around 40 doctors doing sessional work for us and some of our doctors have been with us for 15 or 20 years (25 years in one case!)

The work is self-employed meaning that the doctor is free to accept or decline any particular weeks (although it obviously makes life much easier all round if we get into a regular long-term routine).

We pay £92 per hour for the duration of the session, although remember that as this is a self-employed role, medical indemnity costs would need to come out of that.
