This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional who enjoys combining big-picture strategy with hands-on delivery. You’ll shape marketing strategy, develop brands, support exciting new product launches and create campaigns that make an impact — both with consumers and at retail.

Working closely with our General Manager, you’ll lead a talented team of three and collaborate across sales, commercial, licensing and product development to turn creative thinking into measurable business growth.

  • Plan and manage marketing calendars, campaigns and activity across multiple channels.
  • Keep our brands consistent, compelling and relevant across digital, retail, trade and consumer touchpoints.
  • Use competitor insights, customer feedback and market trends to identify new opportunities.

Product Innovation & Brand Licensing

  • Work with licensing partners to maximise the potential of our licensed brands and product ranges.
  • Support new product development, from initial ideas and consumer insights through to launch.
  • Collaborate with design, product development and commercial teams on packaging, product positioning and go-to-market plans.
  • Spot emerging trends, new category opportunities and potential brand partnerships.
  • Coordinate brand approvals, licensing requirements and marketing deliverables.
  • Help develop seasonal collections, gifting opportunities and exciting new product propositions.

Retail & Trade Marketing

  • Create trade marketing initiatives that support sales growth, customer acquisition and new retail listings.
  • Partner with sales and key account teams to deliver tailored marketing support for major retailers, independent businesses and specialist pet channels.
  • Oversee trade presentations, product catalogues, point-of-sale materials and retailer promotional campaigns.
  • Lead marketing activity for trade shows, exhibitions and customer events.
  • Develop persuasive brand stories and commercial propositions that help win new business.
  • Support international growth through distributor marketing and export market initiatives.

Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Lead digital marketing across relevant websites, social media, email and other channels.
  • Oversee content planning, digital campaigns and the development of engaging brand assets.
  • Manage paid and organic marketing activity, working with agencies and specialist partners where needed.
  • Explore opportunities across PR, influencer marketing, partnerships and brand collaborations.
  • Ensure campaigns are measurable, effective and aligned with wider commercial objectives.
  • Bring our brands to life through engaging content, photography, video and consumer communications.

  • Set the creative direction for brand campaigns, packaging, product launches and marketing communications.
  • Brief and collaborate with designers, agencies, photographers and external suppliers.
  • Take campaigns from initial concept through to delivery, evaluation and optimisation.
  • Ensure all marketing materials are high-quality, on-brand and commercially effective.

  • Work closely with senior management and colleagues across the business to align marketing with commercial priorities.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers and suppliers.

  • Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are invested effectively.
  • Set meaningful KPIs and report on campaign performance, brand development and marketing effectiveness.
  • Use data, customer insight and market intelligence to guide decisions and investment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes, efficiency and return on investment.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a confident marketing leader who combines strategic vision, creative flair and strong commercial instincts.

You’ll be organised, proactive and comfortable managing a varied portfolio of brands, products and projects. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively, influencing stakeholders and turning ideas into practical actions that deliver results.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in a marketing management or brand marketing role, ideally within consumer goods, retail, lifestyle or pet products.
  • A proven track record of developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of brand management, product marketing and product launch planning.
  • Experience working closely with sales, commercial, product development and creative teams.
  • A good understanding of digital marketing, including social media, content, paid media and performance measurement.
  • Experience managing budgets, external agencies and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A commercially focused mindset and the ability to demonstrate the impact of marketing on business performance.
  • The ability to move confidently between strategic planning and hands-on execution.

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • Experience in the pet care, pet accessories or wider consumer products sector.
  • Knowledge of brand licensing and working with licensing partners.
  • Familiarity with UK retail channels, including grocery, garden centres, specialist retailers and independent stores.
  • Experience in product development, packaging and range launches.
  • Exposure to international markets, export or distributor marketing.
  • Experience organising trade shows, exhibitions and retailer marketing programmes.

Don’t worry if you don’t tick every desirable box. If you have the core marketing leadership experience and the commercial and creative mindset we’re looking for, we’d still love to hear from you.

You’ll make a real difference by:

  • Delivering a focused marketing strategy that supports the growth of our business.
  • Strengthening brand awareness, positioning and consistency across retail and consumer channels.
  • Supporting successful product launches, licensing programmes and new commercial opportunities.
  • Building a motivated, effective and collaborative marketing team.
  • Delivering engaging, commercially relevant campaigns on time and within budget.
  • Using clear reporting and insight to demonstrate marketing’s contribution to business growth.

Why join Pet Brands?

This is more than a traditional marketing management role. It’s an opportunity to shape the direction of a diverse, creative and commercially driven business.

With established licensed properties, owned brands and a pipeline of product development opportunities, you’ll have the scope to influence everything from brand strategy and creative campaigns to product innovation and retail partnerships.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager, lead a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make your mark across a varied portfolio in the UK and international markets.
