Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) from the medical/healthcare sector to drive business growth, expand our client base, and strengthen relationships with NHS Trusts, private hospital groups, clinics, distributors, and healthcare institutions across London and the UK.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the UK healthcare market, proven experience in medical sales or business development, and an established professional network across clinical and procurement sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across NHS Trusts, private hospital networks, and private healthcare providers.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key procurement leaders, hospital administrators, clinicians, and medical distributors.
  • Commercial Execution: Promote and sell medical products, equipment, or healthcare services to key accounts to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Tenders & Proposals: Prepare competitive proposals, bids, and quotations while managing contract negotiations and navigating public procurement framework agreements.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis tailored to the UK healthcare landscape, staying aligned with NICE guidelines and NHS procurement priorities.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with internal procurement, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless product delivery and service standards.
  • Industry Representation: Represent the company at UK medical trade exhibitions, industry conferences, and healthcare networking events.
  • Sales Forecasting: Deliver regular sales pipeline forecasts, market analysis, and activity reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of proven business development or commercial sales experience within the medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors.
  • UK Network: Demonstrated familiarity with the UK healthcare ecosystem and established contacts within London healthcare institutions.
  • Right to Work: Valid legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license for traveling to client sites and clinical appointments.
  • Skills: Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and account management skills.
  • Attributes: Target-driven, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously across field territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NHS Procurement Knowledge: Hands-on experience working with NHS Supply Chain frameworks, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and formal tendering processes.
  • Regulatory Insight: Familiarity with UK medical device regulations (MHRA) and quality standards.
  • Private Sector Network: Existing relationships with major UK private healthcare operators (e.g., HCA Healthcare, Spire Healthcare, Ramsay Health Care, Nuffield Health).

Pay: £3,500.00-£5,000.00 per month
