Enjoy investigative work and making a difference? Join Unum as a Trainee Claims Assessor and help provide vital financial support to individuals and families when they need it most.

Please note that our assessment centres for successful candidates are scheduled for late June. As part of a coordinated intake, start dates will be from 31 August (to be confirmed).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assessing Claims: Learn to manage and assess claims using medical and policy knowledge.

  • Customer Communication: Deliver clear, empathetic updates to customers throughout the claims process.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the Claims department while also managing your own caseload.

  • Service Excellence: Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, always putting the customer first.

We’re seeking individuals who are:

  • Curious and Analytical: Able to investigate, spot patterns, and think critically.

  • Strong Communicators: Confident in both written and verbal communication, with a customer-focused mindset.

  • Organised and Resilient: Comfortable managing varied workloads in a fast-paced environment.

  • Empathetic and Professional: Able to handle sensitive situations with care and discretion.

Experience in areas such as customer service, case work or financial services may be helpful or similar qualifications or experience in law, psychology, nursing or a related field have proved successful. We’re looking for individuals with strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a natural ability to solve problems and learn new information

The successful Trainee Claims Assessor can expect:
