Full job description

We are looking for 2 reliable and efficient Pharmaceutical Delivery Driver to join our team on a self employed basis. In this role, you will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to long-term care homes and individual patients. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service while adhering to strict safety and confidentiality protocols. Drivers will be working early shifts (from 3am), shifts will be between 8-10 hours long.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely Deliveries: Safely transport medications and supplies to designated locations, ensuring all deliveries are completed on schedule.
  • Accuracy and Compliance: Verify delivery orders to ensure the correct items are delivered to the correct recipient, maintaining strict compliance with pharmaceutical handling regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, and report any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to long-term care homes and patients, addressing any delivery-related queries.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the delivery vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues as needed.
  • Confidentiality: Handle all patient information and medication details with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Problem Solving: Manage and adapt to unexpected delays or changes in delivery schedules to minimise disruptions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in a delivery driver role, ideally in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to meet tight schedules.
  • Ability to follow procedures and regulations, including those related to handling sensitive items.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the local area and efficient route planning.
  • Knowledge of basic pharmaceutical handling and transportation regulations.

Personal Attributes:

  • Reliable and punctual, with a proactive attitude.
  • Professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • High level of integrity and responsibility in handling confidential and sensitive items.
