Full job description

We're recruiting on behalf of a global medical devices business for a Regional Sales Manager to lead a team of Territory Managers and Account Representatives across the North of England and Scotland. This one is less about managing an existing book and more about sales coaching: taking a team that's good and making them sharp - better qualifiers, better closers, better at reading a small business owner and knowing exactly when to ask for the order. If you've built or coached a team that wins on short buying cycles, this is worth a conversation.

The Role

  • Manage, coach and motivate an assigned team of Territory Managers and Account Representatives
  • Get hands-on with sales coaching; one-to-one and in the field, not just in review meetings
  • Sharpen the team's approach to short, fast-moving sales cycles with owner-operator customers
  • Support the team in building plans and strategies that convert quickly and hit target
  • Build a growth mindset and a genuine desire to compete for the next deal
  • Use data to spot where the team is losing ground and fix it fast
  • Ensure every customer gets a clear, tailored action plan - no generic pitches
  • Co-travel with the team and get in front of customers regularly
  • Train on product knowledge, customer segmentation and consultative selling skills
  • Step in to resolve customer concerns and objections when they need an extra hand
  • Hire high-calibre Territory Managers who can sell on value, not just price
  • Balance short-term operational demands with the longer-term goals of the business
  • Report team performance regularly to the General Manager
  • Work with peers across the business to bring new ideas to the table
  • Get involved beyond the day job - this is a business that rewards initiative

What You'll Bring

  • A track record of selling and ideally coaching others to sell
  • Experience selling into small business owners or owner-operators who make fast, personal buying decisions
  • A background in Business Administration, Sales or Marketing
  • Based in or around Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds or Sheffield
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience managing and planning budgets
  • 7-10 years' sales experience, including 3-5 years leading a field sales team
  • Medical device or healthcare industry experience strongly preferred, but not essential
  • A natural ability to spot opportunity and the influence to act on it
  • A genuine advocate for digital products and modern selling workflows
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and coaching skills
  • Full, clean driving licence

Why Apply

This is a leadership seat with real influence over how a territory sells, not just what it sells. You'll be backed by a genuinely global business, strong investment in your own development, and enough autonomy to actually change how the team operates. If your instinct is to fix the sales process rather than just manage the numbers, this role gives you room to do it.

Consult will endeavour to contact candidates within 14 days of application. However, if you do not hear back after 2 weeks then please assume on this occasion, unfortunately, you have not been successful.
