Job Summary

Area Sales Manager (South)

Business Development Manager (BDM)

Home Based | South of England

Competitive Salary + Bonus + Company Vehicle

A personal note from Terence Clark, Business Development Director

I've worked in the mobility industry for over 30 years, and one thing I've learnt is that our industry is built on relationships.

Products matter, of course, but people choose to do business with people they trust.

Finding the right person for this role is more important to me than filling the vacancy quickly. I'm looking for someone who enjoys being out with customers, takes pride in doing what they say they'll do and wants to become a trusted partner to the retailers they work with.

At Roma Medical, we've been supporting mobility retailers for over 40 years. We're investing in new products, strengthening our dealer network and continually looking at ways to make it easier to do business with us.

We're big enough to support customers across the UK, but still small enough to know our customers personally. That's something I believe is worth protecting.

If you're looking for a role where you'll have the freedom to manage your territory properly, the support of an experienced team behind you and the opportunity to make a real difference, I'd genuinely like to hear from you.

About the role

At Roma Medical, we don't just sell mobility equipment, we help independent retailers provide products that genuinely improve people's lives.

We're looking for an Area Sales Manager to join our sales team, covering the South of England. The role is all about building relationships with our dealer network, helping customers grow their businesses and making sure they get the very best from working with Roma.

This isn't about walking in with a price list and hoping for an order. We want someone who enjoys getting to know their customers, understanding what makes their businesses tick and becoming someone they trust.

Our product range includes mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, rollators and daily living aids. We're investing heavily in developing our range, and there's plenty to be excited about over the next few years.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for looking after an established territory across the South of England.

You'll spend most of your time out with customers, supporting existing dealers, introducing new products, providing product training and identifying opportunities to grow sales. There will also be opportunities to bring new dealers on board where you believe Roma can add value.

You'll attend exhibitions, dealer events and customer open days, working closely with our Customer Service, Marketing and Product teams to ensure customers receive the support they deserve.

Just as importantly, you'll tell us what you're hearing. We value feedback from the field because that's how we continue to improve both our products and the service we offer.

We're probably looking for you if...

You already know what life on the road looks like.

You enjoy spending time with customers more than sitting behind a desk.

You understand that good account management isn't just about taking orders. It's about helping customers become more successful.

Ideally, you'll already know the mobility industry and have experience selling products such as mobility scooters, wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs or daily living aids. If you already have relationships with mobility retailers, that's a real advantage.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone people enjoy doing business with. Someone who is reliable, organised, honest and happy to roll their sleeves up when needed.

What you'll need

  • Experience in field sales, territory management or account management.
  • The ability to build long term customer relationships.
  • Confidence demonstrating products and delivering training.
  • Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisation and self motivation.
  • A full UK driving licence.

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary.
  • Performance related bonus.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Pension.
  • Mobile phone and laptop.
  • Ongoing product and sales training.
  • The opportunity to represent one of the UK's best known mobility manufacturers.

If you're looking for a company that values relationships as much as results, we'd love to hear from you.
