Competitive, Based on experience

Full Time, Permanent

We are seeking a Technical Instructor to design and deliver high-quality maintenance training for customers supporting simulator devices. This is an exciting opportunity to join an agile, global aviation environment committed to innovation, customer service, and safer skies.

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Customer Support to create and deliver customer-focused technical training, both in-house and at customer sites in the UK and overseas. You will also support the development, publication, and validation of technical documentation and electronic learning content, ensuring training materials reflect the correct customer configuration and remain accurate, practical, and easy to use.

The role

You will be responsible for creating and delivering maintenance training to a diverse customer base, adapting your approach to suit different cultures, backgrounds, and operational needs. You’ll be expected to work independently, manage your own workload, and raise technical, schedule, or resource risks early. When required, you will also contribute to the Electronic Documentation Facility content, helping to build clear, customer-facing maintenance information.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver innovative, customer-focused technical training.
  • Analyse aircraft, equipment, and wiring drawings to support training content.
  • Develop and validate course material and lesson plans using the latest baseline content.
  • Maintain detailed training diaries and documentation.
  • Support the creation and publication of technical documentation and E-Learning content.
  • Act as a technical expert within the instructional team for your assigned system or subject area.
  • Work collaboratively to help define and improve departmental processes.
  • Manage your own workload effectively and deliver within budget and timescales.
  • Raise issues, risks, and technical challenges promptly and professionally.
  • Represent company values: Customer First, Own It, Move Fast, and Speak with Candour.
What we’re looking for

  • Qualified civilian or military instructor with at least 2 years’ experience delivering technical instruction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree in a maths, science, or engineering-related subject, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 4 years’ relevant industry experience, or 2 years’ technical experience in the associated discipline.
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability.
  • Good computing knowledge, including hardware and Windows/Linux operating systems.
  • Willingness to work shifts and unsociable hours, including travel within the UK and overseas.
Benefits

  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
  • Buy/sell up to 5 days holiday.
  • Private medical insurance, with optional family cover.
  • Pension with up to 7% employer contribution.
  • Life assurance up to 4x salary, flexible up to 10x.
  • Group income protection.
  • Optional extras including dental, gym membership, critical illness cover, and cycle to work.
  • Employee assistance programme for wellbeing support.
  • Subsidised staff restaurant.
  • Staff car park with EV charging.
Location and eligibility

This role is based at the London Training Centre, Crawley, England, GB and requires the right to work in the UK.
