This position also requires an individual with considerable analytical thinking capability to be able to interpret drawings and understand the correct functioning of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical instruments.
This is a key role that will suit those with a background within a precision electro-mechanical manufacturing and test environment. more importantly, we seek individuals with the right behaviours, outlook, drive and willingness to learn and adapt as we provide personal development and training opportunities to complement the role.

- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and designs fluently
- An understanding of electronic assembly (Soldering, wiring, testing etc)
- An understanding of fault-finding techniques with speed and accuracy.
- Good communication skills along with the ability to gel with a team and keep a positive outlook even when things occasionally don’t go to plan.
- Experience using measurement instrumentation, gauges, multimeters, verniers etc.
Desirable:
- HND / HNC or other qualification in relevant engineering or science discipline or experience enough to understand the principles behind mechanical engineering and instrument design.
- Experience in a low volume, high complexity medical / vacuum / precision device manufacturing field
- An understanding of motor / stepper motor controllers / sensors etc
- An understanding of quality management methods and ISO9001 requirements and to recognise where data is conflicted or incorrect.
- A good understanding of LEAN / 6 Sigma and CI tools and techniques (5s, PDCA, DMAIC, Poka-Yoke, Continuous flow, Kaizen etc) A yellow or green belt would be a distinct advantage although we hold regular training for these and other qualifications.
Hours: 7:30-4:30 Monday to Thursday, 7:30-1:30 Friday.
Benefits: Our employees receive 25 days holiday, a competitive pension scheme and a company contributed group share incentive plan on successful completion of the probationary period.
