Audio Typist

St David Recruitment Services are working in partnership with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, who are seeking experienced Audio Typists to suport several departments within each hospital, so flexibility is key.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous NHS or medical secretarial experience who enjoys providing high-quality administrative and typing support working within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately produce clinical correspondence, patient notes, and reports using digital dictation and audio typing systems.
  • Ensure all typed documents are proofread and completed within set turnaround times, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive medical information in accordance with NHS policies and GDPR regulations.
  • Liaise professionally with clinicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals to support smooth communication and workflow.
  • Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, and updating electronic patient records.
  • Manage incoming calls and messages efficiently and courteously.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Medical Audio Typist or within a medical secretarial / NHS administrative setting is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, digital dictation software (e.g. Winscribe, Lexacom, or similar), and general office systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage workload under pressure.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a busy team.

Salary

£13.49ph

Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm - may very depending on each department.

Work Location: Pontyclun In person
