The role

We are looking for a Supervised Medical Writer and Academic Assistant to join our team in Bermondsey. You will carry out medical writing tasks under the direct supervision and instruction of our Director, Dr Jonathan Ajah. Dr Ajah will allocate, review and approve all work. You’ll take on a varied range of medical and academic projects, with full training and structured feedback.

Duties

• Draft and edit research summaries, academic documents and supporting materials, following guidance on structure, accuracy and appropriate terminology.
• Organise clinical research information, check source material and maintain clear records of document changes.
• Apply data analysis and analysis skills to review information, identify relevant findings and support accurate reporting.
• Coordinate document reviews with colleagues and incorporate feedback into revised drafts.
• Your impact: Clear, well-checked materials help colleagues understand research findings and use them in their academic work.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

• A degree in medicine, biomedical science or a related health discipline
• Strong academic writing, with close attention to accuracy and detail
• Familiarity with literature databases (e.g. PubMed) and reference managers
• A firm commitment to research integrity and confidentiality
• The ability to work efficiently on routine tasks while keeping quality high
• GMC registration is welcome but not essential

Required: You can write clearly, organise information carefully, check details and use analysis skills to support accurate documents and reporting. Preferred: Familiarity with clinical research, data analysis skills or related academic writing is advantageous, as is experience reviewing information and incorporating feedback. You should be comfortable working under supervision, asking for clarification and adapting drafts in response to guidance.

Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
