Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practice Nurse to join our busy GP practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive healthcare environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. The role is paid and suitable for qualified nurses seeking to utilise and expand their clinical skills in general practice settings.

We would prefer a nurse who has trained in Diabetes.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including health assessments, vaccinations, wound management, and chronic disease monitoring
  • Assisting GPs with patient examinations and procedures
  • Managing patient appointments efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of care and confidentiality
  • Educating patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with practice protocols and data protection legislation
  • Supporting the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by GPs
  • Participating in practice meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification recognised within the UK healthcare system
  • Proven experience in patient care, ideally within a primary care or similar setting
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support clinical decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining high standards of patient safety
