Overview of Vacancy:

Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our Production team in Brentford. This is a hands-on role covering Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), supplier quality and continuous improvement within the Production department.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager and QA Manager to maintain and improve manufacturing quality standards and ensure Production activities comply with the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

The role reports to the Production Manager and works closely with QA, Engineering and Purchasing.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and improving our quality standards, ensuring that products and manufacturing processes meet internal, customer and regulatory requirements.

The role reports to the Production Manager and works closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and other departments.

  • Support and improve Quality Assurance processes within Production.
  • Perform QC inspections on manufactured and part-assembled products.
  • Ensure Production activities and records comply with the company's ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Work closely with the QA Manager on manufacturing-related quality issues and improvements.
  • Investigate non-conformances (NCRs), identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform incoming goods inspections against engineering drawings, specifications and purchase orders.
  • Ensure products meet applicable requirements, including ATEX specifications where required.
  • Investigate supplier quality issues and support corrective actions with suppliers and Purchasing.
  • Liaise with Production, QA, Engineering and Purchasing to resolve manufacturing quality issues.
  • Monitor quality trends and help reduce defects, rework and recurring problems.
  • Maintain accurate Production quality and inspection records.
  • Participate in Quality Meetings and promote a right-first-time culture within Production.

Skills Requirements:

The candidate must:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • Be comfortable with physically demanding work.
  • Be experienced in either the mechanical or electronics field, or both.
  • Have fluency in English and competence in reading English.

Candidates with a good understanding of the Six Sigma process would be preferred.

  • Practical and willing to work hands-on with products and manufacturing processes.
  • Positive, flexible and enthusiastic about learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
BEng equivalent or higher from an accredited engineering degree course.
