Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineering Manager.

Based in the South of England, (Kent is a key location) this role is vital in overseeing the maintenance and engineering operations that support our mission of safeguarding health and well-being. You will play a key part in ensuring our facilities operate efficiently and sustainably.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, ideally gained within the waste, energy from waste, heavy industrial, or similarly regulated sector. You will lead multi disciplinary engineering initiatives, support project planning and procurement, oversee contractors, and drive innovation in plant technologies. In addition, they will provide critical support for maintenance planning, CMMS optimisation, and troubleshooting across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the facilities engineering teams to ensure optimal operation of all equipment and systems.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and environmental regulations.
  • Manage projects related to facility upgrades or new installations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align engineering activities with company goals.
  • Develop budgets for maintenance and engineering projects.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements.
  • Ensure all systems are maintained according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Qualifications
  • A relevant formal engineering qualifications (ONC, HNC, Degree),
  • Proven project engineering back ground including taking the lead effectively and managing multiple projects.
  • Proven management and leadership skills in a facilities or engineering environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance operations.
  • Electrical experience is advantageous.
  • Supervising experience is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and in particular IT/Tech literacy
