Full job description

Installation Engineer (United Kingdom-wide/as needed contractor)

At AtmosAir Solutions, we help air make an impact. For nearly 20 years, we've been a trusted name in healthier indoor air, with our solutions at work in major sports stadiums and concert venues, hotels and cruise lines, hospitals and universities, office buildings and town halls. Our smart, connected systems continuously measure and improve the air people breathe, keeping every space feeling fresh, safe, and comfortable.

As demand for healthier indoor environments continues to grow across the UK, AtmosAir is seeking an Installation Engineer on a contractor basis to deliver our air purification and indoor air quality solutions across the region. This hands-on role focuses on installing, integrating, and commissioning AtmosAir bi-polar ionization systems within commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) plant and ductwork, along with our indoor air quality sensors and portable units. The ideal candidate is a skilled, safety-conscious engineer who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working directly with customers on site. If you are practical, reliable, and motivated by delivering solutions that make a real difference to the air people breathe, we would love to meet you.

The Installation Engineer plays a central role in how we serve our customers and represent AtmosAir in the field. You will install our best-in-class solutions with care and consistency, work across multiple sites and projects, and help shape the customer experience at every stage of the installation. Success in this role takes strong technical ability, a methodical and tidy approach to work, a commitment to health and safety, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a project team.

The Installation Engineer will be trained on AtmosAir products and installation procedures and will be field-based, covering customer sites across the UK. The role involves regular travel to sites and requires flexibility to work away from home and outside standard hours where a project demands it.

Key Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Install, retrofit, and integrate AtmosAir bi-polar ionization air purification systems into new and existing HVAC plant, air handling units, and ductwork.
  • Carry out electrical connection, mounting, and commissioning of ionization units, indoor air quality (IAQ) sensors, and monitoring devices in line with manufacturer specifications and UK wiring regulations.
  • Test, validate, and verify system performance on completion, confirming correct operation of equipment and sensors before handover to the customer.
  • Complete planned maintenance, replacement of components such as ionization tubes, filters, UV bulbs, and sensor cartridges, and attend service or fault-finding visits as required.
  • Complete accurate installation, commissioning, and service documentation, and maintain clear records and reporting for each site.
  • Work safely at all times in line with health and safety legislation and site requirements, including safe working at height and within plant rooms, risers, and ceiling voids.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience installing, maintaining, or commissioning HVAC, ventilation, ductwork, or building services equipment
  • A recognised vocational qualification in HVAC, building services, mechanical or electrical engineering (for example NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3), or equivalent practical experience
  • A valid CSCS or SKILLcard, with IPAF and PASMA certification for working at height preferred but not required, as training can be provided
  • Sound electrical knowledge, with 18th Edition (BS 7671) wiring regulations an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom

Company Background:

AtmosAir Solutions is a global leader in healthier indoor air. Our smart, connected systems continuously measure and improve the air people breathe, delivering real-time data and proven results. With more than 10,000 installations worldwide, we're helping people see air differently across commercial real estate, hospitality, sports and entertainment, education, and beyond.
