Paediatric Dietitian – Home Enteral Feeding - Band 6

Job Type: Temporary / Contract
Location: Remote / Home-based
Band: Band 6
Hours: Full-time/Part-time
Pay Rate: 24.70 PPH on Umbrella

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian to join a specialist Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) service supporting babies, children and young adults.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Paediatric Dietitian with experience in paediatric caseload management, enteral feeding and nutritional support, who is confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist dietetic advice and support to paediatric patients receiving home enteral feeding.
  • Assess nutritional needs and develop individualised treatment and care plans.
  • Manage complex paediatric nutritional requirements and enteral feeding regimens.
  • Provide advice on PEG, NG and PEG/J feeds and specialist paediatric feeds.
  • Interpret growth charts, anthropometric measurements, biochemical results and dietary history.
  • Provide advice on weaning, thickened fluids, modified texture diets, blended diets and risk feeding.
  • Work closely with the wider MDT and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide consultations and clinical support remotely via telephone and digital platforms.

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Dietitian.
  • BSc (Hons) Nutrition/Dietetics, postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous paediatric dietetic experience, ideally at Band 5/6 level.
  • Experience managing a paediatric caseload.
  • Knowledge of enteral feeding and nutritional support, including PEG, NG and PEG/J feeds.
  • Experience with specialist paediatric feeds.

Desirable

  • Previous Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) experience.
  • Community or primary care dietetic experience.
  • Experience working with babies, neonates, children and young adults.
  • Experience with non-oral feeding.
  • Experience providing education, training or supervision.
