Dental Practice Receptionist Wanted – Sherwood House Dental Practice, Loughborough

Sherwood House Dental Practice, a well-established NHS and private dental practice on Ashby Road, Loughborough, is looking for a friendly, organised, and reliable Dental Receptionist to join our welcoming front-of-house team.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a warm, professional, and reassuring experience from the moment they walk through the door or pick up the phone. You'll work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to keep the practice running smoothly day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients warmly and managing the front desk
  • Answering telephone calls, responding to enquiries, and managing appointment bookings
  • Managing the appointment diary efficiently, minimising gaps and cancellations
  • Processing patient payments, NHS charges, and private treatment plans
  • Maintaining accurate patient records in line with data protection requirements
  • Liaising with clinicians regarding scheduling, patient needs, and treatment plans
  • Handling patient queries and concerns with tact, empathy, and professionalism
  • General administrative duties, including managing correspondence and practice paperwork
  • Supporting the wider team with day-to-day practice operations

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using computer systems (training provided on our dental software)
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment

  • Previous dental or healthcare reception experience is an advantage, but not essential — full training will be provided
