Full job description

Practice Purpose - Our aim is to provide the best possible healthcare to enable our patients to live well. This is achieved through a highly motivated, effective, and efficient Practice team.

Team Purpose - To provide a friendly, courteous and efficient service to patients of the Practice and representatives of all other relevant bodies.

Role Purpose -To provide secretarial support to the Practice and ensure all referrals and queries are dealt with in a timely manner.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Operational

Prepare and audio type all referral letters and other word processing for members of the Practice as required.

Log all referral forms on EMIS and take copies where necessary

Prioritise word-processing and type any urgent letters or referrals for posting or collection on that day.

Deal with patient queries on the telephone eg regarding referrals and appointments.

Liaise with other staff in the Practice and with hospital secretaries/consultations on behalf of patients

Prepare and type minutes of meetings

Action all message, visits and information for clinical staff as appropriate

Administrative and other Duties

Undertake other duties within your competencies.

Work across all Practice sites as agreed with your managers.

Use photocopier, franking machine, and other Practice equipment as required.

Involvement in CQC related document preparation.

Provide internal cover, should the need arise due to illness / holidays or staff shortages.

Undertake any other duties as requested by the Senior Medical Secretary or Operations Manager commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.

Salary £13.98 phr rising to £15.80 phr

Role 34 to 37.50 hours a week covering site (s) till 5pm

Job Type: Part-time

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
