Full job description

Dental Receptionist – Private Dental Practice

NuDental – Baildon, West Yorkshire
£13.50 per hour
Full-Time | Part-Time Considered
Dental experience preferred

About NuDental

NuDental is a modern, fully private dental practice based in Baildon, providing a wide range of general, cosmetic and advanced dentistry, including dental implants, orthodontics, composite bonding and smile makeovers.

We have grown significantly over recent years and are continuing to expand, with ongoing investment in our facilities, technology, marketing and team.

We are now looking for a confident, organised and professional Dental Receptionist to join our front-of-house team.

The Role

Our reception team plays a central role in both the patient experience and the smooth running of the practice.

You will often be the first and last person our patients interact with, so we are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable while remaining professional, efficient and highly organised.

This is a busy private practice with multiple clinicians and a wide variety of treatments. You will need to be comfortable managing several priorities at once, communicating confidently with patients and working closely with the wider clinical and administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and providing an excellent front-of-house experience
  • Managing busy clinician diaries accurately and efficiently
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
  • Booking, confirming and amending appointments
  • Following up enquiries and outstanding appointments
  • Helping convert patient enquiries into booked consultations
  • Taking payments and maintaining accurate records
  • Communicating appointment, treatment and payment information clearly
  • Maintaining accurate patient records on our practice management system
  • Working closely with dentists, nurses, Treatment Coordinators and other members of the reception team
  • Proactively managing diaries to minimise gaps and make effective use of clinical time
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative duties
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times

What We're Looking For

Previous dental experience is preferred, particularly experience working on reception within a private dental practice. Experience using Dentally would be an advantage.

We would also consider an exceptional candidate from another busy, customer-facing environment who demonstrates the right skills and attitude.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Friendly, professional and confident with patients
  • An excellent communicator, both in person and over the telephone
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Confident managing diaries and multiple priorities
  • Proactive and able to identify what needs doing without always being prompted
  • Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable handling payments and administrative responsibilities
  • Confident using technology and learning new systems
  • Calm and professional when dealing with difficult or sensitive situations
  • Patient-focused while understanding the commercial needs of a private dental practice

What We Offer

  • £13.50 per hour
  • Full-time position, with part-time considered for the right candidate
  • Modern, high-quality private dental practice
  • Structured training and support
  • Performance-related incentives
  • Staff benefits
  • Opportunities to develop and take on additional responsibility
  • A supportive and ambitious team environment
  • The opportunity to progress as NuDental continues to grow and expand

Why NuDental?

We want people who take pride in their work and care about providing patients with an excellent experience.

We have invested heavily in creating a modern private practice with strong systems, excellent facilities and a busy patient base. As we continue to grow, there will be opportunities for the right people to develop their skills and progress within the business.

If you have dental reception experience and are looking for your next role within a growing private practice, we would particularly like to hear from you.
