Temporary Medical Patient Services Advisor (Reception) – Nuneaton

Temporary Zero Hours Contract (6 Months)

We are looking for an experienced, friendly, and professional Medical Patient Services Advisor to join our busy and supportive GP practice in the Nuneaton area on a temporary zero hours contract for approximately 6 months.

This role is available to start as soon as possible and will run until January 2027.

About the Role

The successful candidate will primarily provide Friday afternoon reception cover from 12:30pm to 6:30pm each week for the next six months.

There is also the potential for additional shifts on Mondays and Wednesdays as staffing requirements change. We also have regular opportunities to cover annual leave and staff absences, so applicants should be flexible and willing to work extra hours at short notice where possible.

As a key member of our reception team, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a professional, efficient, and compassionate service in a busy GP practice.

About Us

We are a well-established GP practice caring for approximately 13,500 patients and are proud to have been rated GOOD by the CQC.

Our clinical team includes:

  • 4 GPs
  • 3 Clinical Practitioners
  • 4 Nurses
  • 1 Healthcare Assistant

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is:

Essential Requirements

  • Previous GP practice or NHS reception experience is essential
  • Excellent keyboard and computer skills
  • Experience dealing with patients and members of the public
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Nuneaton

Please Note

This is a temporary zero hours contract expected to last until January 2027. The role is primarily for Friday afternoons (12:30pm–6:30pm), with the possibility of additional Monday and Wednesday shifts becoming available, along with regular holiday and sickness cover.

Please only apply if you have previous GP practice or NHS reception experience, are able to work the required Friday afternoon shift, and can reliably commute to our practice in the Nuneaton area.
