Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Dental Receptionist to join our welcoming reception team in Glasgow, United Kingdom. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst maintaining the smooth operation of our dental practice.   • Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcomed and valued throughout their visit
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate patient records with meticulous attention to detail
  • Answer telephone enquiries professionally and courteously, providing information about services and booking appointments
  • Process patient registrations and handle administrative documentation efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations, including GDPR requirements
  • Liaise between patients and clinical staff, ensuring clear communication and smooth patient flow
  • Handle patient payments and process invoices with accuracy and transparency
  • Manage the reception area, keeping it clean, organised and welcoming for all visitors
  • Support the wider dental team through collaborative working and a can-do attitude
  • Respond to patient enquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary
  • Utilise practice management software and IT systems competently to support daily operations
  • Contribute to the achievement of practice goals through reliable, efficient and dedicated work

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • Previous reception experience, ideally within a dental or healthcare setting (though this is not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational and time-keeping abilities
  • Proficiency with IT systems and practice management software
  • Ability to multitask effectively whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
  • Empathetic nature with genuine passion for delivering excellent patient service
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and patients
  • Telephone etiquette and customer service experience
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection principles

**Desirable Skills and Experience:**

  • Experience working within a dental practice or healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
  • Experience with SOE
  • Familiarity with GDPR compliance and patient data handling
  • Additional language skills
