Full job description

Cartside Medical Practice, based in Linwood Health Centre, Renfrewshire is looking for a Medical Receptionist to cover Maternity Leave starting September 2026 for 9-12 months.

As a Medical Receptionist, you’ll play a key role in supporting our patients and clinical team. Your responsibilities will include:

· Front Desk Reception Duties, greet patients, answer calls, and assist with enquiries.

· Management of Appointment Book, schedule and manage patient appointments accurately and efficiently.

· Document Handling, process clinical documents, scan and file records accurately.

· Update patient records with precision.

· Prescriptions, manage prescription requests.

· Handling and actioning immediate discharge summaries and prescriptions

· Patient Signposting, guide patients to the right services.

· Communicate with local pharmacies regarding prescriptions and queries.

· Communicate and liaise with other Health Board Services.

· Support the team with other administrative tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For

· A friendly and compassionate communicator with excellent customer service skills.

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work well as part of a team.

· Flexibility to cover occasional overtime for holidays or absences.

· Experience with EMIS and Docman is a bonus (training provided if needed).

Hours are 36 hours per week.

Salary will be dependent on experience.
