About the Role

A Welcoming Face. An Organised Approach. A Role That Helps Keep Our School Running Smoothly. If you’re friendly, organised and enjoy a role where you can help people while keeping everything running efficiently behind the scenes, this could be a great opportunity for you.

At Bestwood Village School, we’re looking for a Receptionist with Medical Administration Responsibilities to become an important part of our school team.

You’ll be the welcoming first point of contact for students, families, visitors and colleagues, helping create a positive and professional first impression of our school. Alongside reception and general administration, you’ll take responsibility for important medical administration processes, helping us maintain accurate information and support the health, safety and wellbeing of our students.

With 22.5 hours across Monday to Friday, term time only, and flexibility to discuss how the 4.5 hours are worked each day, this role could offer a great balance for someone looking for a rewarding part time position within a school environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing a warm, professional welcome and managing reception enquiries, calls and emails.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential student medical records and related documentation.
  • Monitoring, replenishing and organising first aid and medical supplies to ensure they are always available and in date.
  • Keeping first aid equipment stocked, maintained and ready for use.
  • Supporting the administration of student medical information in line with school procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks and helping maintain an organised, welcoming reception environment.

What you will bring

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in reception, administration, education, healthcare or other customer-facing environments.

  • Friendly, approachable and professional, with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident maintaining accurate records and managing administrative processes.
  • Trustworthy and discreet, with a clear understanding of confidentiality.
  • Comfortable using IT systems and administrative software.
  • Proactive and able to identify tasks that need attention before becoming issues.
  • Caring and committed to supporting student wellbeing and safety.

Previous experience in a school setting or medical administration would be beneficial, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates with strong organisational and administrative skills who are keen to learn.
