Are you a trustworthy, honest, caring, and reliable individual looking for a unique role in one of York’s leading medical clinics? We are offering an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Surgical Assistant, with additional reception duties.

We are looking for an excellent candidate to complement our small close-knit team. Above all, we are looking for someone who puts honesty, integrity and professionalism at forefront of all they do.

Responsibilities

The role encompasses several key responsibilities:

1) Set up and shut down of surgery rooms to ensure smooth running of day-to-day clinics.

2) Assisting doctors and surgeons with minor procedures under local anaesthetic as well as supporting medical consultations.

3) Some reception duties and leads management

4) Helping to maintain stringent standards of cleanliness in the clinic.

5) Helping in the decontamination room to process surgical instruments

6) Strictly adhering to all practice policies and procedures

Skills

All training will be provided. We are looking for the right person who upholds our ethical standards, someone who is great at communicating with patients and is a team player, and who has a willingness to learn and extend their training. The ideal candidate would be motivated, work well under pressure, have a positive attitude and possess personal initiative . A good command of spoken and written English and a professional attitude with an eye for detail is essential for this role. An understanding of the critical importance of cleanliness in the context of a surgical environment is key as is taking the responsibility to help keep the clinic areas spotless.

Full time: The clinic operates between 8.45 am until 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.45 am to 5.15 pm Friday and 9 am until 2 pm one Saturday a month. We are looking for a candidate to fulfill 33-35 hrs per week.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 37 per week
