Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coder, Note Summariser & Administrator to join our GP practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding and summarising patient medical records alongside all aspects of administration within the practice.

They will provide efficient and accurate administrative support, helping to ensure patients receive timely, safe and high-quality care.

The position offers an opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who can work with precision, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of sensitive health records.

There may be future opportunities to develop an information systems management role, looking at searches, data collection and reporting from our clinical systems.

The role will be approximately 25-30 hours per week.

We are a rural practice and as such you will need your own transport.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately summarise and code patient notes and medical records.
  • Organize, maintain and update electronic and paper-based medical documentation.
  • Handle incoming communications to the surgery via both email, post and internal systems.
  • Support general administrative duties within the practice or healthcare organisation.
  • Process deductions and registration queries in line with practice procedures.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.
  • Liaise with clinicians where clarification of medical information is required.
  • Support wider administrative functions when required.

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook.)
  • Ideal candidate will have knowledge of EMIS, Anima & Accurx systems.
  • Excellent analysis skills to interpret complex medical information accurately.
  • Effective communication skills in English to liaise with healthcare professionals and team members clearly.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work independently.
