Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Coding Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT and coding practices. This role requires excellent organisational skills, as well as proficiency in various software applications, including Emis Web. The Coding Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate data management and coding processes.

Duties

  • Accurately clinically coding data on Jubilee Medical Centre into the patient record
  • Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patient’s medical history
  • Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed action
  • Inputting and extracting data as required to support practice reports
  • Filing and storing records as required
  • Photocopying documentation as required
  • Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
  • Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients’ healthcare records
  • Inputting data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller’s request appropriatel
  • Carrying out system searches as requested
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested

Experience

  • Proven experience in IT or a related field such as Emis Web is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal, is necessary for effective communication.
