Join an established specialist lending business where you'll shape sales strategy, develop broker relationships and drive sustainable commercial growth.
Senior Sales Manager
£60,000–£85,000 DOE + Performance-Related Bonus | Hybrid | Cornwall
Are you an experienced Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager or Sales Leader with a strong background in property finance, commercial lending or specialist financial services?
Do you thrive on building relationships, developing people and turning a well-managed pipeline into tangible commercial results?
This could be an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing specialist lending business, where you'll play a key role in shaping sales strategy, developing broker relationships and driving sustainable business growth.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a commercially focused Senior Sales Manager to take ownership of sales activity across direct, broker and intermediary channels.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you'll lead a team of Relationship Managers, driving performance, activity and accountability while ensuring the sales pipeline is managed effectively from initial opportunity through to completion.
You'll be a key link between Sales, Underwriting, Credit, Completions and Marketing — using data, market insight and strong stakeholder relationships to identify opportunities, improve conversion and remove obstacles to growth.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, commercially minded and influential, with the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the wider sales operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and actively manage deal origination across direct, broker and introducer channels
- Manage, coach and develop a team of Relationship Managers
- Set clear expectations and drive performance against agreed KPIs and lending targets
- Monitor lead generation, conversion, pipeline progression and completion performance
- Identify bottlenecks and implement actions to improve conversion and efficiency
- Produce and present meaningful sales MI and performance reporting to senior management
- Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with brokers, introducers and professional intermediaries
- Develop account plans for key broker relationships and networks
- Identify and develop new sources of lending opportunities
- Represent the business at networking events, exhibitions and industry conferences
- Work closely with Marketing to maximise lead generation and campaign effectiveness
- Support the continued development of the sales operating framework, processes and customer journeys
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation and reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM data and ensure effective pipeline forecasting
- Share market intelligence and broker insight with senior stakeholders
- Promote responsible lending, customer fairness and regulatory compliance
What We're Looking For
You'll need at least five years' experience within one or more of the following:
- Property Finance
- Commercial Mortgages
- SME Lending
- Asset-Based Lending
- Bridging Finance
- Development Finance
- Specialist Banking
We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked within a UK retail bank, challenger bank, specialist lender or non-bank lender, with experience of secured lending or real estate finance.
You'll also have:
- A proven track record of achieving lending or origination targets
- Experience managing sales pipelines and forecasting future business
- Experience managing or coordinating a sales/business development team
- Strong broker and intermediary relationships
- Excellent commercial awareness and credit appreciation
- Experience producing and analysing sales MI
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A data-led, organised and disciplined approach to sales performance
- Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM would be advantageous
The Person
We're looking for someone who is:
Commercially driven – you understand what drives profitable growth and aren't afraid to take ownership.
Data-led – you enjoy using MI and performance data to identify trends, solve problems and improve results.
A natural leader – you know how to motivate, coach and challenge people while creating a supportive, high-performing environment.
Relationship-focused – you can build credibility and long-term relationships with brokers, introducers and internal stakeholders.
Organised and accountable – you understand that disciplined pipeline management is fundamental to sales success.
Collaborative – you'll work closely with teams across the organisation to deliver the best possible outcomes.
What You'll Get
- £60,000–£85,000 salary, depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Hybrid working
- A senior position with genuine commercial influence
- The opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing sales team
- The chance to build and grow an established broker/intermediary network
- A collaborative and commercially focused working environment
- The opportunity to contribute to the development of sales strategy, processes and future growth
Location
Hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the Cornwall Head Office once per week, or a minimum of twice a month depending on your location.
