Job Summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring medical receptionists to undertake an apprenticeship within a busy healthcare environment. This paid apprenticeship provides valuable hands-on experience in administrative and reception duties, supporting the smooth operation of a medical practice. The role is ideal for individuals seeking to develop their skills in healthcare administration while gaining recognised qualifications. Successful candidates will be part of a professional team committed to delivering excellent patient care and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling patient visits.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously, directing enquiries appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information within the practice management system.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing correspondence.
- Assist with the organisation of patient paperwork and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Support the team with general administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 guidelines, to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
What We're Looking For
- Recent school or college leaver. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, professional and reliable approach. Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills. Must have 5 National 5s including English
