NHFM Medical Engineering Team are responsible for the management of approximately 28,000 medical devices Trust wide, to ensure that they are safe, functional and available for clinical use. One of our roles is the management of the three Medical Devices Equipment Libraries across the main Trust sites, where clinical teams can loan medical devices for patient treatment, then return them to the Library when no longer needed.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person with excellent communication skills to work at our Northumbria (NSECH) Hospital site.
The role involves regular updating of the department's asset database (e-Quip), to ensure accurate device locational records are maintained. As such good keyboard/PC skills are required along with the ability to prioritise workload.
The successful candidate must be able to work alone or as part of a team in a Trust where delivering high quality patient care is at the centre of all we do.
Ward rounds to collect equipment are a daily requirement and you will need to liaise with clinical and technical colleagues on a regular basis.
Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received.
To support the Medical Engineering team in the running of the Medical Equipment Libraries, ensuring accurate, up to date records of all equipment loan transactions are maintained. The role incorporates admin and decontamination duties.
The Medical Engineering Team incorporates Engineering, Patient Safety Specialists, Medical Device Education, alongside the Medical Equipment Library role.
We are a highly cohesive small team, where teamwork is key to our work ethic.
