Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Obstetrics Service within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as a Band 4 Administrative Patient Services Coordinator (APSC). Based within the Women's Service, the post holder will provide day-to-day coordination and operational support for administrative processes across the Obstetrics pathway, ensuring patients receive a high-quality, efficient and responsive service.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and proactive individual who can work effectively in a busy environment, manage competing priorities and build positive working relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership, communication and administrative skills who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care through effective service support.

Why you should join our Team

The Obstetrics Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides care to thousands of women and families every year and is supported by a dedicated administrative team that plays a vital role in ensuring patient pathways run efficiently and safely. As an Assistant Patient Services Coordinator, you will be part of a busy and supportive team responsible for coordinating appointments, managing referrals and waiting lists, supporting service performance and working closely with clinical colleagues to deliver an excellent patient experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development. You will work alongside midwives, doctors, and fellow administrative staff, building strong relationships across the wider Women’s CSU. In this role, you will make a real difference to both patients and staff, contribute to service improvement initiatives and develop your leadership and operational skills within one of the UK's largest teaching hospitals, then this is the role for you.

What you will bring to the role

Are you an organised and proactive individual with experience of coordinating services within a busy healthcare environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the delivery of high-quality obstetric services through the effective coordination of administrative processes and patient pathways. As an Administrative Patient Services Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring appointments, referrals, waiting lists and pathway management activities are delivered efficiently, supporting the smooth running of the service and helping patients access the care they need in a timely manner.

This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys working collaboratively with clinicians, managers and administrative colleagues. You will be confident managing competing priorities, supervising and supporting administrative staff, resolving pathway issues and using your initiative to improve processes and service delivery. If you are committed to providing an efficient, patient-centred service and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we would love to hear from you.
