Job Summary

Are you a motivated educator, recent Graduate with an excellent academic record or an academic mentor looking for an extraordinary international opportunity?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic International Private Mentor / Assistant Tutor (GCSE) to support a student in achieving their academic goals in their year 11 equivalent.

We are seeking to recruit as soon as possible for the duration of this academic year, till June 2027, following typical private school termly dates. The role may be extended longer for the right candidate.

This role involves providing personalized mentoring tailored to their online school lessons and their 1-2-1 tuition online from teachers qualified in their subjects: English Language, Maths, Business, Economics, Sociology, Chemistry, Biology and Physics IGCSEs. As the student is also training in elite sports in the mornings, the assistant tutor / mentor's role is primarily to be present during online tuition to ensure high standards of engagement, fostering confidence, and enhancing good organisation and revision skills across various subjects. The daily hours vary from 3-6 hours.

While this job is posted in the UK to find top-tier British Curriculum talent, the role is fully residential and based in Croatia with separate accommodation to the family fully paid for, assistance and payment for the digital nomad visa (including the health insurance requirement) all transport while in Croatia and to / from the UK through out the academic year, up to three flights.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ individual learning needs and adapt mentoring strategies accordingly to maximize understanding and retention
• Support student with exam preparation techniques, study skills, and time management strategies
• Communicate progress regularly with the student and their guardians or educators to ensure alignment on goals and improvements
• Create a homework and revision schedule to cater for the student's busy training schedule and academic studies
• Maintain a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building
• Track student progress and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement

Requirements

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching GCSE-level subjects (any) with a focus on personalized instruction
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts in an understandable manner
• Experience working with children or young learners, demonstrating patience and adaptability
• Excellent organizational skills to monitor progress, and manage schedules efficiently
• Enthusiasm for education and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries and accountability - discretion and reliability are paramount
• a valid UK passport and willingness to apply for the Croatian Digital nomad visa is essential
• An EU passport is preferable

Pay: £750.00 per week
