We are looking for a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) Lead who is strategic, collaborative, and insightful to join our Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) team, based at our UCB headquarter located in Brussels, Belgium, or in our offices in Monheim Germany, or Slough UK.


About the role

As a PCOR Lead, you will play a leading role in the development and implementation of patient-reported outcomes (PRO) and more broadly clinical outcome assessment (COA) strategies. You will generate robust patient experience data and evidence that demonstrate the meaningful patient benefits of our innovative UCB solutions and that meet external evidentiary standards and support healthcare decision-making.


Who you will work with

As a member of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, eg, representatives from Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Biostatistics.


What you will do

  • You will lead the development and implementation of patient experience evidence strategy on clinical outcome assessments (COAs) from early development through to full lifecycle management.
  • You will lead research activities supporting the selection, development, validation, interpretation, and implementation of PRO/COA measures.
  • You will provide subject matter expert input into strategic documents, tactical plans and target patient value profiles, as well as into clinical documents, eg, study protocols, analysis plans, clinical reports.
  • You will provide subject matter expert input into regulatory and HTA briefing packages and interactions..
  • You will lead scientific dissemination (eg, peer-reviewed publications, abstracts) in line with publication strategies.
  • You will build relationships and partner with external groups to advance methodological frameworks and acceptance of patient experience evidence to inform external healthcare decision making.
  • You will be an inspiring ambassador to contribute to organizational awareness on the value of patient experience evidence.


Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Master's degree, PhD, MD, or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Significant experience in biopharmaceutical, medical device, or academic environments within PRO/COA, or patient preference research.
  • Expertise in PRO/COA development, validation, and implementation in clinical research, including strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative scientific methodologies and evidentiary requirements by regulatory and HTA bodies
  • Experience in clinical development, regulatory and HTA interactions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills in a matrix organization.
  • Proven project leadership capabilities with experience managing complex global initiatives
