Job Title: Road Freight Operator

Location: Hounslow, Middlesex (commutable from Heston, Osterley, Isleworth, Feltham, Southall)

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 DOE Bonus

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday + occasional weekend on-call rota

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Road Freight Operator to join a busy logistics operation, coordinating road freight movements for imports, exports, cross trade, and domestic shipments. You'll be the key link between suppliers, hauliers, and internal teams — keeping goods moving on time, on budget, and fully compliant.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning, booking, and managing road freight transport (inbound and outbound)
  • Liaising with hauliers and freight forwarders to agree rates and schedules
  • Monitoring shipments and resolving delivery delays proactively
  • Preparing accurate transport documentation (CMRs, delivery notes, consignment/customs docs)
  • Providing transport partners with clear collection and delivery instructions
  • Supporting customs processes for import/export
  • Monitoring KPIs and reporting on operational performance
  • Acting as main point of contact between suppliers, warehouses, and internal teams
  • Maintaining accurate records on the operational platform
  • Participating in an on-call weekend rota

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in logistics, transport coordination, or supply chain operations
  • Solid understanding of road freight and customs processes
  • Experience with purchase order systems and ERP software
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable negotiating with suppliers and hauliers
  • Familiarity with UK/EU customs and road transport regulations (desirable)
  • Experience with CargoWise and/or Lima (desirable)
  • GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent)
