Full job description

Are you passionate about supporting doctors throughout their career journey and ensuring high-quality workforce processes that directly support patient care?

As part of our evolving People & Culture Directorate, we are recruiting two Medical Workforce Partner roles to support key areas of our Medical Workforce function:

  • Medical Workforce Partner (Job Planning)
  • Medical Workforce Partner (Appraisal & Revalidation)

These are exciting opportunities to work in partnership with senior clinical leaders, consultants, operational teams and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to deliver specialist medical workforce services across the Trust. Both roles will play a vital part in supporting compliance, workforce planning, medical engagement and the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Main duties of the job

Medical Workforce Partner (Job Planning)

You will lead the operational delivery of consultant and SAS doctor job planning processes across the Trust, working closely with Clinical Leads, Divisional teams and the Deputy Medical Director.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and supporting the annual and in-year job planning process.
  • Advising managers and clinicians on job planning principles, policies and processes.
  • Producing workforce intelligence and reports to support service planning and capacity management.
  • Supporting the Job Planning Committee and ensuring robust governance arrangements.
  • Delivering training and guidance to clinicians and managers on job planning systems and processes.

Medical Workforce Partner (Appraisal & Revalidation)

You will support the Trust's appraisal and revalidation processes, ensuring doctors are supported to meet regulatory requirements and maintain professional standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating appraisal and revalidation processes for non-training grade doctors.
  • Supporting compliance with GMC and Trust requirements.
  • Working closely with appraisers, clinicians and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Producing reports and workforce information to support assurance processes.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of appraisal and revalidation arrangements.

We are a supportive and inclusive organisation that values its people. We offer development opportunities, flexible working, and a strong focus on wellbeing. As a Disability Confident and equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.

Join us and help shape the future of care in West Essex.

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Experience working within Medical Workforce, HR, workforce management or a related NHS operational role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex processes and competing priorities.
  • Experience building effective relationships with senior clinicians and managers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to analyse information, identify solutions and drive improvements.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
