Remote | UK-Based | Flexible Sessions

CB1 Medical is hiring UK-based Mental Health Nurse Prescribers to deliver remote consultations within our specialist medical cannabis service.

This is a flexible, sessional role designed around you - run clinics up to 7 days per week, at times that suit your availability.

About CB1 Medical & CB1 Pharmacy

CB1 Medical is a private medical clinic specialising in the prescribing of cannabis-based medicines for patients with chronic pain and mental health conditions.

Our service is delivered remotely via telemedicine, supported by an experienced administration and patient support team. CB1 Pharmacy is our online dispensing partner, providing regulated private prescriptions including those issued by CB1 Medical and other UK clinics.

We operate within MHRA and GMC/NMC prescribing frameworks, with a strong focus on governance, safe practice and patient-centred care.

The Role

As a CB1 Mental Health Nurse Prescriber, you will:

  • Conduct structured mental health assessments and reviews for patients referred for medical cannabis treatment
  • Prescribe where clinically appropriate and within your professional scope, in line with MHRA and NMC standards
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessment and escalate concerns in line with safeguarding and clinical policy
  • Monitor patient progress, review treatment plans and adjust prescriptions based on therapeutic response and side effects
  • Ensure safe prescribing and maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records
  • Provide clear education around dosage, usage and potential side effects
  • Manage medication-related queries by phone and email
  • Oversee repeat prescriptions on Script Assist, resolving queries promptly
  • Collaborate with consultants, doctors, pharmacists and patient support colleagues, referring on where a case falls outside your scope
  • Stay current with developments in cannabis-based medicines, mental health evidence base and regulatory guidance
  • Contribute to audits, clinical governance and quality improvement activities

Working Pattern & Sessions

  • Appointments at 10-minute intervals
  • Each 4-hour session includes a paid 20-minute catch-up
  • Flexible scheduling - run clinics 7 days a week as fits your availability
  • Required attendance at a weekly virtual MDT session (Tuesday evening, 18:15 or 19:00) for CPD.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Independent / non-medical prescriber qualification (V300)
  • Experience managing patients with mental health conditions
  • Strong understanding of prescribing governance, risk management and safe practice standards
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgement and patient engagement skills
  • Confident working in a remote consultation environment

Desirable:

  • Experience prescribing in a medical cannabis setting
  • Familiarity with NICE guidance and specialist cannabis prescribing frameworks
  • Experience in private healthcare or digital/telemedicine services

Why Join CB1?

  • Fully remote, UK-based work
  • Flexible sessions designed around your availability
  • Structured governance and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Opportunity to work within a growing specialist field
  • Clear clinical framework with defined prescribing pathways

Onboarding & Compliance

As a regulated healthcare provider, we are required to obtain:

  • Up-to-date CV
  • Proof of qualifications and NMC registration
  • Evidence of your independent prescriber qualification (V300)
  • Valid DBS (less than 3 years old)
  • Evidence of mandatory training (BLS, Safeguarding Level 3, Equality & Diversity, Infection Control, Health & Safety, Complaints, DOLS, relevant procedural evidence)
  • Proof of right to work in the UK (as per Home Office guidance)
