The Opportunity
As part of our continued growth, we're looking for a QC Analyst to join our Quality Control team. This is an exciting opportunity to support both our established operations and the continued expansion of our sterile manufacturing capabilities.
Working within our Quality Control laboratory, you'll perform a wide range of chemical, physical and microbiological testing activities, ensuring that materials and products meet the highest quality standards. You'll play an important role in supporting GMP compliance, laboratory operations and continuous improvement, whilst working within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical and physical testing on raw materials, intermediates, finished products, commercial products and packaging materials using a range of analytical techniques including HPLC, FTIR, disintegration testing and other laboratory methodologies.
- Support environmental monitoring activities, including microbiological incubation and enumeration of environmental monitoring media.
- Carry out weekly and monthly equipment checks, calibrations and routine maintenance, ensuring all laboratory instruments remain fit for purpose.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing in accordance with GMP requirements, ensuring accurate documentation and full traceability.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and complete documentation in accordance with GMP and company procedures.
- Help maintain laboratory housekeeping standards, ensuring laboratories remain organised, compliant and inspection ready.
- Assist with stock management of laboratory reagents, consumables and glassware.
- Raise and investigate deviations where required and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support MHRA inspections and regulatory audits as required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with GMP, company procedures and UK pharmaceutical regulations.
- Support wider Quality Assurance activities across the business during quieter periods, providing assistance with areas such as manufacturing, QA release and other quality functions, offering valuable exposure across the wider pharmaceutical operation.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical and committed to maintaining the highest quality standards. You'll bring:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or another relevant scientific discipline.
- Previous experience working within a GMP-regulated analytical laboratory.
- Practical experience of analytical testing techniques, particularly HPLC.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- The ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working within GxP-regulated environments would be advantageous.
- The ability to travel to our site in North Downs Business Park, Sevenoaks.
- A flexible approach with a willingness to support other quality functions and develop knowledge across the wider business.
What We Offer
- Starting salary: £26,813 (based on a 37.5-hour week), increasing to £27,788 after six months, with further progression opportunities available.
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Free on-site parking.
- Career development within a regulated, purpose-driven environment where your contribution truly matters.
Pay: £26,813.00-£27,788.00 per year
