Full job description

Front of House Assistant (Barista-in-Training)

Location: 21 Lime street.

Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time positions available

Pay Rate: National Minimum Wage (dependent on age bracket)

Are you looking to break into the café industry, learn how to make the perfect coffee, and gain great experience? Whether you are a student looking for flexible hours around your classes, a non-student ready to dive into work, or looking for an apprenticeship opportunity, we want to hear from you!

We are actively looking for energetic team members, particularly in the 16 to 20 age group, who are eager to learn the ropes of running a busy café from the ground up. No prior experience is required—we will teach you everything you need to know!

What You Will Do (The Role)

As a Front of House Assistant, you will be a true "Café All-Rounder." You won't just be stuck in one spot; you will get to learn and help out in all areas of the café:

Barista Support & Training: You will start by helping our main barista, restocking milk/cups, and serving drinks. Over time, we will fully train you on the espresso machine so you can become a confident barista.

Front of House & Cashiering: Greeting our lovely customers, taking orders at the till, and keeping the front counter looking sharp and inviting.

Kitchen Assistance: Helping out in the kitchen to prepare some of our food products and simple menu items.

Café Care (Cleaning): Keeping the seating area clean, clearing and wiping tables, washing up, and ensuring the café is a welcoming environment for everyone.

Who We Are Looking For

Since this is an entry-level and training role, we care much more about who you are than what is on your CV! We are looking for:

A Positive Attitude: You are friendly, smile easily, and enjoy chatting with customers.

A Willingness to Learn: You are proactive, listen well, and are excited to pick up new skills (like latte art!).

Team Players: Reliable individuals who show up on time and are happy to jump in and help wherever needed—whether that's making a drink, prepping food, or grabbing a mop.

Flexibility: Perfect for students needing weekend/evening shifts, or anyone looking for a solid full-time/part-time routine.

What We Offer

Full training in all aspects of hospitality and barista work.

A fun, supportive, and energetic team environment.

Flexible working schedules that respect your school, college, or personal commitments.

Opportunity for a formal apprenticeship pathway if desired.

How to Apply

Ready to join the team? Drop your CV in person at the café and say hello, or email us at gm@atmospresso.co.uk with a brief note about why you’d love to learn to be a barista with us!
