About the role:

As an AI Engineer Apprentice at Hyperfinity you will help develop and grow agentic AI capabilities on two fronts: the intelligent features they build into their software for customers, and the internal AI tools and automation that make teams more productive.

You will learn alongside your role studying the brand-new Level 4 AI & Automation Level 4 apprenticeship, so we understand you will be early in your AI journey – whether you are starting out or retraining from another field. What matters most is curiosity, a problem-solving mindset and a real enthusiasm for AI. We will give you the training, mentoring and real projects to grow into a confident AI engineer.

Responsibilities:

You will work alongside experienced engineers and data scientists, starting with supported tasks and taking on more ownership as you grow. Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Build and test AI features

  • Develop internal AI tools

  • Experiment with prompts and models

  • Connect systems together

  • Test, document and improve

Desirable skills:

  • Any hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Claude or Gemini.

  • Some exposure to coding or scripting (e.g. Python), data, spreadsheets or automation tools – even self-taught or hobby projects.

  • Experience using low-code/no-code automation platforms such as Power Automate, Zapier or similar.

  • A background in a related or analytical field, or evidence of retraining towards tech.

  • A strong interest in AI, automation and technology, and a desire to build a career in this field.

Entry requirements:

  • Level 3 Qualification (Apprenticeship/A Levels/BTEC etc.)

  • OR equivalent work experience (typically 2 years in a relevant role)

AND

  • 5 x GCSE’s including English & Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

For more information please visit the UK ENIC website.

Benefits:

  • Private Medical Insurance (AXA Healthcare)

  • Death in Service Cover

  • Pension (NEST)

  • 26 days annual leave + bank holidays, increasing annually up to 30 days with tenure

  • £300 annual budget to support role-related or career development learning.

  • Option to work remotely while on leave (up to 2 requests per year, max 10 working days total).

  • Enhanced Family Leave

  • Eyecare Support

  • Hybrid Working: Typically 2 days in the office and up to 3 days working from home each week.
