Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults to live independently and achieve their goals? Elite Housing is looking for an experienced Housing Support Officer to join our dedicated team in South London, providing person-centred housing and support services to tenants living in supported accommodation.

About the Role

As a Housing Support Officer (HSO), you will work directly with tenants to help them sustain their tenancies, build independent living skills, and access local support services. You will be responsible for developing and delivering individual support plans, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring each tenant receives tailored support to meet their needs and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly one-to-one support sessions with tenants in supported housing.
  • Create, review, and update individual support plans and risk assessments.
  • Help tenants access welfare benefits, healthcare, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Support tenants to manage rent payments, budgeting, and day-to-day living skills.
  • Maintain accurate support logs and documentation on the internal CRM system.
  • Liaise with local agencies, professionals, and partner organisations to coordinate effective support.
  • Conduct property checks to ensure compliance with health & safety and housing standards.
  • Promote independence, empowerment, and tenant engagement at every stage.

About You

  • Experienced in delivering housing-related support to vulnerable adults.
  • Confident in creating person-centred support plans and conducting risk assessments.
  • Knowledgeable about Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and tenancy sustainment.
  • A strong communicator who can build trust and motivate tenants.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage a small caseload across multiple properties.
  • Committed to equality, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a supported housing or similar role.
  • Experience of supporting individuals with a range of needs (mental health, homelessness, substance misuse, or learning difficulties).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable (but not essential).
