From the team behind Maray, Café Barbette is a brand new concept landing in Exchange Square this summer. Inspired by the relaxed charm of a European café, this is a venue designed to shift seamlessly on weekends from easygoing daytime drinks to a vibrant, vinyl music-led evening atmosphere.

Expect a curated wine list, punchy cocktails, and a simple, elegant menu built and delivered with real attention to detail.

Job Overview

As a bartender at Barbette you will be required to deliver drinks and service to a high standard whilst having the crucial role of welcoming guests into our space for them to feel comfortable. The role will suit someone with a passion for drinks, guest interactions and using their personality to influence the venue atmosphere in a positive way.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences by upholding service standards, managing drink times effectively, and ensuring beverages are prepared to spec with consistency and care.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge of the food and drink menus, proactively promoting specials and supporting the floor team in meeting wet-led sales targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, allergen, waste tracking, and allergen safety in specials.
  • Maintain high operating standards by keeping the bar, stockroom, and surrounding areas clean and organised, following FIFO principles and completing weekly cleaning tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Applying skills and knowledge in a fast paced environment.
  • Understanding of reservations systems, and EPOS, however full training will be given.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with the restaurant’s uniform policy and an understanding of the physical requirements that may include standing for extended periods, lifting trays and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Flexibility to work various types of shifts that will include weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • At least 1 year experience as Bartender or equivalent at a cocktail forward venue.
