Waiting Staff – The Butchers at Westgate

The role offers some flexibility but applicants must be available for some (preferably all) of the following shifts:

• Fridays 5/6pm – close
• Saturdays 3/4pm – close
• Sundays 11/12 – close

We can also offer additional hours on weekdays, weekends and a Wednesday evening for the right candidate if more hours are required.

About Us

The Butchers at Westgate is a busy restaurant at the heart of The Westgate in Long Eaton. Known for high-quality food, a warm welcome, and great service, we’re building a reputation as a go-to spot for everything from relaxed meals to big celebrations. Our signature Mega Roast has recently gone viral, drawing in new guests from across the region and firmly putting us on the map as one of the area’s must-visit dining destinations. Since coming under new ownership in June 2024, we’ve been investing in our team, our menus, and our guest experience – and we’re just getting started.

Overview

We’re looking for a dedicated Waiter or Waitress to join our front-of-house team. You’ll be an important part of ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. From welcoming tables to serving drinks and plates hot from the grill, you’ll help keep service running smoothly in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and seat guests, explaining menus and specials.
• Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate clearly with the kitchen team.
• Deliver food and drinks efficiently and professionally.
• Upsell menu items and specials to boost guest satisfaction and sales.
• Stay attentive to tables, topping up drinks and clearing plates promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organised restaurant floor and reset tables quickly.
• Support the kitchen team by ensuring smooth service and quality presentation.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately.

Experience & Skills

• Previous hospitality/restaurant experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• A natural people-person with excellent guest service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Confidence with basic maths for handling orders and payments.
• Enthusiasm for hospitality and willingness to learn.
