Full job description
The role’s primary purpose is to deliver, assess, and support high-quality education and training, ensuring learners achieve their qualifications efficiently and to national standards. The postholder teaches and assesses apprenticeship and educational programmes up to Level 5, providing feedback, guidance, and support to help learners progress and succeed. They manage learner cohorts to achieve targets for retention, achievement, and timely completion, while maintaining accurate records and compliance with awarding and regulatory requirements.
They develop and deliver clinical and non-clinical training, conduct training needs analyses, and design flexible, innovative learning solutions including simulation-based education. The role contributes to quality assurance by ensuring programmes meet professional and governance standards, supporting audits, and continuous improvement processes.
Maintaining clinical competence through operational practice, the postholder supports workforce development and may assist in recruitment assessments. They research and develop learning resources, promote lifelong learning, and act as course lead or tutor where required. Collaboration with Education and Development Leads, higher education partners, and stakeholders is essential to ensure alignment with organisational strategy and educational best practice.
The role provides high-quality educational and clinical advice, guidance, and support to students and staff, ensuring effective, evidence-based learning across the organisation. Working with higher education partners, the postholder develops and delivers programmes that meet Trust and professional standards. They maintain clinical competence through regular operational shifts, ensuring teaching and assessment remain current and relevant. Responsibilities include delivering and assessing learning, compiling reports, evaluating performance, and maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body and Trust policies.
Please see job description for more details.
We employ 3,500 staff in 63 locations and serve a population of 2,600,000 in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, and Tees over 3230 square miles.
Many people think the job of the ambulance service is to collect patients and take them to hospital, but we do much more!
Paramedic skills have developed hugely in recent years, meaning we carry out more treatment at the scene and en-route to hospital.
We have a dedicated clinical assessment service that allows us to provide patients with the most appropriate care from the beginning of the patient journey.
We have a specialised branch of the Trust called HART which deal with explosions or terrorist attacks.
Ultimately patients are the heart of everything that we do to support our mission of "safe, effective and responsive care for all".
We value and respect the diversity employees bring to our workplace. We recruit a workforce that reflects the community we serve, and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds. To ensure we deliver on our aims in relation to diversity and inclusion we assess ourselves against a range of frameworks. We are ENEI Gold employer, Disability Confident Leader, Dementia Friendly, and part of Mind Blue Light programme and the Race at Work Charter from the Princes Responsible Business Network and are achieving across all objectives in NHS Equality Delivery System.
From 01/04/25 If your role needs a DBS you'll be subject to salary deduction totaling £49.50, spread over first and second pay.
